Trekking: Trails of TVC
Visiting TVC isn't limited to the cultivated land — you can trek out onto beautiful trails leading into the adjacent forest. This is elephant territory — TVC sits inside the corridor connecting Bannerghatta National Park to the Cauvery — so plan your hike with our local in-charge rather than heading out on your own.

The Temple Trail
~3 km round trip · a couple of hours
Climbs to the Chikkamma-Doddamma Temple at the top of the hill, past our housing clusters. From the top you can see the farms below and Thaggatti village in the distance on one side, dense forest on the other. Go in the evening for a beautiful sunset.

The Watering Hole Trail
~2.1 km one way · a little over 2 hours
Leads to a small pond with water most of the year. You'll see pug marks from herbivores like deer and wild boar — no big cats seen so far — and maybe a rabbit or peacock crossing your path. Takes you deeper into the forest through narrow undergrowth passages.

The Top of the Hill Trail
~3 km one way, 6.5 km round trip · 3+ hours
The longest trail, climbing gradually through forest, bamboo clusters, and flower blooms during the rains, to a panoramic view of the area. Best done early morning; getting caught out after dark on the way back can be risky.
You can also do shorter walks in the upper wildlife corridor, along the periphery of the large canopy food forest, or through the Kavery 2 area to learn about native and planted species helping rejuvenate the land.
