Madhavan
Farm lead & naturalist
A passionate naturalist who has been tirelessly working on rejuvenating the land, documenting the flora and fauna, gathering seeds from the forest, maintaining a nursery, and nurturing the ecosystem. He knows every tree, bird, and reptile you'll run into here, and lives on-site with his wife Krithika and daughter Shashtika.

Teacher
Born and raised in Trichy. Teaches every subject to classes 1–3 at the government school in the neighbouring village of Arthakal.
Ramdhas
Master craftsman
From the neighbouring village of Odhipuram, and with TVC from the very beginning. Deeply knowledgeable about local plants and trees, and a master of bamboo craft. Lost a leg in an accident at a stone quarry, but it hasn’t slowed him down. Speaks Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil.
Elraju
Village news bearer
Ramdhas’s son, and with TVC from the very beginning too. The first to know what’s happening in the village, and a favourite for his ghost stories. Humble through and through. Speaks Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu.
Gundappa
Supervisor
From Odhipuram. Once a shepherd, he still knows the forest trees like old friends. Now TVC’s supervisor — always active, rarely resting, and soft-spoken with it. Speaks Kannada.
Mahadevamma
Farmhand
With TVC for 5 years. Quiet and focused — she minds her own work and knows a great deal about wild edible greens. Speaks Kannada.
Puttappa
Plumber
From Odhipuram, with TVC for 4 years. Had migrated to Bangalore for work, and COVID brought his family back to the village. Skilled and a quick learner — TVC’s plumber. Speaks Kannada, Tamil, and a bit of Hindi.

Cook
Very quiet, and an amazing cook — quick with her work too. Speaks Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil.

Drummer
From Odhipuram, with TVC for 2 years. The village’s official drummer for functions and festivals. Soft-spoken. Speaks Kannada.

With TVC for 6 months. Soft-spoken. Speaks Kannada.

Cook
From Thaggatti, with TVC for 7 years. An incredible cook — her rasam is a standout at every meal — and deeply knowledgeable about wild edible greens. Speaks Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil.
