Spend Saturday evening and Sunday at Tamarind Valley Collective (TVC), exploring its diverse landscapes through guided walks and observation sessions. Join our naturalists and fellow nature enthusiasts to discover and identify birds, butterflies, bees, insects, herps, and plants across the farm — from an evening of bird and butterfly watching to a night walk and moth screening, followed by an early-morning trail.

Day 1

Till 4:30 PM Rest, explore the property, or chat with a TVC member about the vision and history
4:30 PM – Dusk Watch/ID/shoot birds, butterflies, and insects around the property’s high-activity spots
6:00 – 6:30 PM Tea/coffee, light snacks
7:30 – 8:30 PM Dinner
8:00 – 10:00 PM Moth Screen and night walk (herps and nocturnal life), chatting with members and naturalists
10:00 PM Retire for the night

Day 2

5:30 AM Wake up, tea/coffee
6:00 – 8:30 AM Bird/butterfly watching, session two
8:45 – 9:30 AM Breakfast
9:30 – 11:00 AM Trail walk, spotting birds, butterflies, insects, and herps with the naturalists
12:00 PM Early lunch, marking the official end of the event

Children below 10: free. Single bookings share accommodation with a participant of the same gender; if no suitable sharing is available, a separate tent is allotted.

Post-lunch options

For those staying back after lunch, subject to feasibility: a trek to Ram Bhetta (~15 km from TVC), or a visit to the lake at Hunsanahalli to look for aquatic and wetland wildlife.

Citizen science

Photograph and document what you see, and upload observations to iNaturalist — no expertise needed, just curiosity.

What to carry

Binoculars and a camera if you have them, a bird book or field guide, clothes that blend with the surroundings, closed shoes and socks for uneven terrain, sun protection, a reusable water bottle, personal medicines, and a torch/headlamp for the night walk.
